We are simply a group of men and women from all different backgrounds who have a love for the martial arts. We welcome anyone who has the dedication to better themselves and seeks to have a good time in the process. All serious students are invited to come and train with us and become part of our community.
Our head instructor, Jim Owens, has over 15 years of experience in the art of Aikido and weapon arts such as the sword and staff. He also has training in Vee Arnis Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do, among many other arts that have influenced his style.
The primary Aikido influences at Rocky Waters Aikido ™ are those of the late Graziano Sensei and Dr. Walker Sensei of Brevard County fame. Other styles that are
seamlessly incorporated include Iwama, Aikikai, and even Aiki-jujitsu styes.
Our training is not for everyone, however. Not just anybody is welcome to practice with us at Rocky Waters Aikido ™. We are looking for the right kind of students.
Why do we care so much who joins us?
This unique approach helps ensure that we have a dedicated group of students who have a true passion for their training. The result is a training environment unlike that of most other martial arts dojos.
